Moving in Solidarity: Dance Workshops Supporting Lebanon.
We are happy to invite you to a full day series of dance workshops. This event is organized by Erratica Association as a gesture of solidarity, created in response to the overwhelming political realities the region is currently facing.
The focus of this gathering is to work with and through the physical body — using rhythms of movement and our voices to collectively create a shared social body memory.
All proceeds from the event will be donated to the Hunna Arts & Culture Center in Lebanon.
Place: STUDIO Kute Upper Floor, Ziegrastraße 13, 12057 Berlin.
Date: 12 July 2026
From 14 until 15:30
Introduction to the body Anatomy and tools for improvisation,
with Chada Halwani and David Kummer.
In the workshop we will explore body anatomy and internal body connections, plains and axes in relation to the spine. This work is based on Laban/Bartenieff fundamentals, and Shiatsu philosophy. We will work on softening and creating space and fluidity within the joints. From this embodied foundation, we will move into improvisational scores that invite creativity, presence, and embodied connection — both with ourselves and with others.
From 16:30 until 17:30
Raqs Sharqi workshop,
with Andrea Fahed.
This workshop invites participants to learn and practice basic movements and rhythms, explore a short choreography, and engage in guided improvisation. Alongside dancing, we will delve into its origins, history, and myths, reclaiming the form from reductive narratives. Most importantly, this workshop creates a shared space of movement—welcoming anyone, regardless of experience, to come together, dance together, and rediscover the simple joy of moving as a collective. And of course, you’ll pick up a few skills to impress your friends at Arabic parties. Please come wearing comfortable clothes and bring a scarf you can tie around your hips.
Who we are?
Erratica is a nomadic laboratory of dancers and multidisciplinary artists, originally founded in the Cilento region of Italy. What began as a site-rooted artistic experiment has since unfolded across Europe and, more recently, in Lebanon. It brings together shared practices by David Kummer, DISCOllective, Mathilde Vrignaud, Maja Laplajne, Elena Dragonetti, Sophie Vautour and Chada Halwani. Erratica explores how artistic, social and ecological practices can coexist, through episodes held in different geographic contexts.
In 2023, Erratica hosted a residency and festival in the old center of Capaccio, bringing artists to collaborate with the local community through workshops, talks, concerts, and performances.
In June 2024, Migrant Bodies – “Divagare e dimorare”, organized by Chada Halwani with the contribution of Erratica and the mediation of Marco Izzolino, transformed Hangar Museo into a two-day home and laboratory for artists and researchers. The event brought the local artistic community into dialogue with international artists around themes of migration, travel, and community. In 2024, we organized the Reverb Festival in Albanella (Italy), gathering artists, researchers and local communities. the Reverb Festival, collects and transmits the vibrations that come from the response of everything that has happened at the Hangar for Erratica 2023.
